This Privacy Policy describes how Ironclad Solutions LLC, doing business as Alethia ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with the Alethia mobile application (the "App") and our website at getalethia.app (the "Website"), as well as your rights and choices regarding such information.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you use third-party authentication services (such as Sign in with Apple), we receive only the information that service provides, which may include a relay email address.
Profile Information: You may voluntarily provide dietary preferences, health goals, food allergies, and other personal preferences to customize your experience.
User-Generated Content: Information you create within the App, including meal photographs, check-in responses, product scan requests, saved recipes, grocery lists, feedback, and support communications.
Usage Information: We collect information about your interactions with the App, including features used, products scanned, recipes viewed, search queries, session duration, and engagement patterns. This information is used to personalize your experience, improve the App, and generate aggregated analytics.
Device Information: We collect device type, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, language settings, and mobile network information.
Location Information: With your explicit consent, we collect precise geolocation data from your device to provide location-based features such as nearby restaurant recommendations. We do not collect location data in the background. You may revoke location permission at any time through your device settings.
Camera and Photo Data: With your explicit consent, we access your device camera for barcode scanning, label and menu photography, supplement panel analysis, and meal photo logging. Images captured for product analysis are processed to extract text and ingredient information.
Log Data: Our servers may automatically record information including your IP address, access times, app version, and referring URLs.
We may receive product information (such as ingredient lists and nutritional data) from third-party product databases. Only anonymized product identifiers (such as barcode numbers) are transmitted — no personal information is shared.
Providing the Service: To operate the App, process product scans, deliver recipe recommendations, generate personalized meal suggestions, track your health journey progress, and provide AI-powered responses.
Personalization: To customize content, recommendations, and features based on your stated preferences, usage patterns, and health goals.
Communications: To send you push notifications you have opted into, respond to support requests, and provide service-related notices.
Improvement: To analyze usage patterns in aggregate, identify and fix technical issues, develop new features, and improve existing functionality.
Safety and Compliance: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or other harmful activities, and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not serve advertisements in the App.
Service Providers: We engage third-party companies to perform services on our behalf (cloud hosting, data storage, analytics, customer support). These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for our services.
Social Features: If you use social features (accountability partners, challenges), certain information you choose to share will be visible to connected users. Your scan history is never shared.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Aggregated Data: We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.
Account Data: Retained until you delete your account.
Usage Data and Scan History: Retained for the duration of your account. You may delete individual records at any time.
After Account Deletion: We will delete or de-identify your personal information within thirty (30) days, except where retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate business purposes.
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures including encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You may access, correct, or update your personal information through the App settings. You may delete your account through Settings → Account → Delete Account. You may opt out of push notifications and revoke camera and location permissions through your device settings.
You have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected].
We process your personal data based on consent, contract performance, legitimate interests, and legal compliance. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and request portability. You may withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. The App is not directed to children under thirteen (13), or under sixteen (16) where GDPR applies. We do not knowingly collect information from children under these ages. Contact [email protected] if you believe a child has provided information without consent.
AI interactions may be analyzed in aggregated and de-identified form to improve response quality. AI-generated content is for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice of any kind.
We use analytics tools to understand usage in aggregate. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-app tracking. We do not participate in advertising networks.
We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice within the App or by email at least seven (7) days prior to the change. Your continued use constitutes acceptance.
